Please bring your instrument and be part of the reading orchestra as we play through a variety of new publications for string orchestra. (Music provided by J. W. Pepper & Sons)

Join us for our annual business meeting where we will be discussing upcoming events and plans for the year.

Second Annual Cello/Bass Ensemble Festival: Spring 2023
After careful consideration and encountering a few issues beyond our control, we are unfortunately going to have to cancel Cello/Bass Day. We appreciate your willingness to support this event and sincerely hope that we can host this event in May 2023.

NC-ASTA Solo Competition:  We are looking for an NC-ASTA member(s) who might be interested in reviving our annual NC-ASTA Solo Competition.  Please e-mail us if you are interested in taking this on.

NC ASTACAP: ASTA Certificate Advancement Program.(ASTACAP). Students are judged in a non-competitive environment on technical & musical preparedness at specific levels (Foundation Level – Level 10)

NC-ASTA is always looking for members interested in hosting ASTACAP exams anywhere in NC.  Please contact Bill Slechta at and/or Nancy Bargerstock  if you would be interested or to get more information.  We would especially like to get an ASTACAP site in the Triangle area.  Please see the ASTACAP page on our website (NC-ASTACAP exams).

Fourth Annual NC-ASTA All-State String Orchestra Festival:  Spring 2023

We are currently looking for a school who would be willing to host this event. If you are interested please reach out to Amanda Turner: amanda.turner@cms.k12.nc.us

This clinic is open to all students in grades 5-12 who are sponsored by current NC-ASTA members. Sponsors will be asked to provide their membership number at registration.
